Each summer the RFSA Foundation awards two scholarship prizes, given on the basis of merit to students at Central Saint Martins. These historical awards are linked to a time when the Royal Female School of Art taught its own students. Awards are presented today to students of Central Saint Martins, being the successor to the Central School of Arts and Crafts, which took over running the art school in around 1909.

William Atkinson Award
The original Atkinson Scholarship, a prize funded by Mr and Mrs Atkinson, was first awarded by the Royal Female School of Art in 1883. Following her death in 1894, Mrs Mary Atkinson left a legacy in her late husbands name, to enable the annual award to be honoured in perpetuity. Following this, the William Atkinson Award was founded in 1896, which is still given as a prize today over a hundred years later. The winners from the class of 2024 are listed below: Joint Winner - Monica Gates (BA Jewellery Design) Joint Winner - Isobelle Marsden (BA Jewellery Design) Highly Commended - Grace Wilson (BA Jewellery Design) |
